I need someone to adopt my baby. Perhaps you’ve been thinking this to yourself but haven’t been able to say it out loud. Or, perhaps your due date is quickly approaching and with each day that passes you’re becoming more and more sure that you aren’t ready to parent right now. Maybe you’re already parenting and don’t feel you have the time, energy, or resources to raise another baby.
Pause. Take a deep breath. You may feel like your world has been turned upside down. But, rest assured that everything will be okay. There are so many wonderful families who are longing to adopt your baby.
At Texas Adoption Center, we’ve seen so many beautiful families come together through adoption. Your baby can grow up in a loving home, knowing that you, her birth mother, loved her and made an incredibly brave decision to give her a bright future.
If you’ve been thinking, I need someone to adopt my baby, here’s 3 things you can do:
Contact An Adoption Agency
Contacting an adoption agency is a great first step to finding someone to adopt your baby. Adoption agencies work with amazing couples and families who want nothing more than to welcome a baby into their hearts and homes.
Texas Adoption Center can connect you with incredible families! You can handpick your baby’s adoptive family or let us choose. All of our families have been prescreened. They are certified awesome!
If you’re nearing your due date or are in the hospital already, we can help! It’s never too late to place your baby for adoption. We can make sure your baby is placed with a wonderful family immediately.
Think About Your Baby’s Future and Your Role in It
When you place your baby for adoption, you have a lot of choices. Adoption is all about empowering women to make the best choices for their child. You can choose how involved you want to be in the process of choosing your baby’s adoptive family. You can also choose how involved you would like to be in your baby’s life after birth.
If you choose an open adoption, you may have the option to stay in direct contact with your baby’s family throughout her life through phone calls and texts. You may even be able to visit her down the road.
Semi-open adoptions allow you to receive letters and picture updates about your baby. With closed adoptions, you generally don’t meet or have any relationship with your baby’s family before or after birth. Still, closed adoptions allow you to choose how “closed” you want the adoption to be. These adoption choices are up to you!
Prepare for Things to Go Better Than You Ever Expected
Placing your baby for adoption can be scary, overwhelming and emotional. But, knowing your baby will grow up with an amazing family surrounded by love and opportunity brings so many birth mothers peace about their decision.
We’ve seen so many of our brave birth mothers continue on to live full lives after adoption--finding joy, love and peace. We truly believe adoption is beautiful and we love walking alongside birth mothers on their adoption journey.
